Abortion Talk is very happy to announce that Jennifer Reiter has been appointed as our new Chair of Trustees, taking up the role from 29 October.

Jennifer brings with her expertise in public health commissioning, strategic leadership and a true passion for sexual and reproductive health. Currently associate director for sexual health at the London Sexual Health Programme, she's been busting abortion stigma for a long time. She advised on commissioning abortion services for the first time in Northern Ireland, worked as a researcher with the SACHA study and served on the board of Abortion Support Network.

Speaking about her appointment, Jennifer says: "I am honoured to be joining Abortion Talk at an important stage in the charity's journey. Since 2021, they've facilitated hundreds of abortion conversations and demand for the Talkline and workshops keeps growing. I can't wait to get stuck in with reviewing and updating our strategy so we can keep growing sustainably and make sure we're here to challenge abortion stigma for as long as that's needed".

Laura Russell, our chair of trustees since 2023 is standing down and we're really going to miss her. Laura steered the organisation through the creation of its first strategy and more recently oversaw a project to transition the charity from a Trust to a CIO. We're so thankful for the time, expertise and passion she gave and wish her very well for the future.
