Abortion Talk Social Media and Administrative Assistant
£5,000 Total (£100-£125 per day depending on experience)
Temporary consultancy: 5 months with possibility of continuation.
Part-time: 2 days/week (flexible) with possibility of increase.
Abortion Talk is a recently established registered charity that challenges the stigma associated with abortion; and the negative impact this has on abortion providers, service users and those considering or seeking abortion.
The charity aims to provide safe spaces for any person emotionally affected by abortion, to talk and seek support around their experiences.
The charity will:
Provide and signpost online resources which challenge abortion stigma in society and offer information and support.
Provide tailored support and space for discussion for people affected by abortion via a free helpline.
Deliver provider support workshops.
Deliver values clarification training.
The telephone support-line, to be staffed by volunteers trained and supported by an experienced abortion counsellor, will be open for two evenings a week. The workshops will be developed by a small team of practitioners and evaluated by researchers using participatory action research methodology.
We are seeking a social media and administrative assistant who can work to ensure the charity is able to establish itself and grow in the current UK sexual and reproductive health landscape.
Social Media & Administrative Assistant Key Responsibilities:
Providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the charity.
Create social media posts.
Use analytics tools to gauge the reach of the charity.
Update posts to include relevant keywords for search engine optimisation.
Prepare reports on campaigns based on analytics.
Identify opportunities to promote the work of the charity through social media.
Maintain basic accounts.
Support the Programme Manager to co-ordinate workshop activity and helpline staffing.
An enthusiastic professional with a dedicated commitment to abortion rights as part of sexual and reproductive health and rights, you will have experience of working on a wide range of social media platforms and carrying out administrative duties.
Excellent knowledge of social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
Excellent administrative skills.
Demonstrated analytical skills.
High level of English and excellent communication skills.
Excellent time management skills.
Prior experience in marketing , communications or social media.
Direct experience of working on an abortion focused project.
Knowledge of confidentiality.
An understanding of the impact of abortion stigma has on abortion care in the UK.
